It depends on the exact vehicle, and the cost of electricity and gas where you live, and what billing plan you’re on. Very roughly speaking, a 100mpge electric car breaks even relative to a 40mpg gas hybrid in running cost at about 30c per kWh and $4/gallon – they both cost about 10c per mile.
