  1. In my extremely short Police Officer career I was on holding cell duty which is where the defendants who are in Custody on their court day are held until they are called into the court. You open a door and your into the court.Anyway a indigenous Australian was called into the court and I walked him into the box where he stood while the prosecutor read out the charge of a house burglary. The magistrate asked him “How do you Plead”, he responded “Yeah I did it but you cant prove it”. The magistrate smiled while the courtroom erupted in Laughter. The magistrate said “ Thank you for your admission of Guilt you are hereby sentenced to 6 months in Prison with no Parole” The people in the courtroom again laughed with the seasoned staff chuckling and shaking their heads at the amateur jailhouse lawyer.I walked him back to the holding cell whilst watching his astonished face wondering where he went wrong in his defense.
