The best food is ‘Indian Food’ … in Malaysia!!!
The culinary tradition of the ethnic Indian communities in Malaysia gave rise to the Malaysian-Indian cuisine. Makeovers of authentic dishes from India, as well as original food inspired by the cultural diversity of Malaysia, this is the best kind of food to enjoy in Malaysia. For a non Indian such as myself, it has become a staple. I eat Indian food more than any other type of food including Chinese.
South Indian style Banana Leaf Rice meal is one of Malaysia’s favourite food with a huge following, non Indians included. I was quite enchanted the very first time I had this many years ago – the enchantment continues. Rice at the center with different accompaniments like pickle, vegetable, papadam (crispy lenthil fries), curries – it’s a feast by itself!
Tables are hard to come by at renowned ‘Banana Leaf Rice’ restaurants; side dishes such as the deep fried chilli chicken are top notch and the fried bitter gourd is irresistible.
Loved by locals and expats, the wide range of dishes turns a flavour bursting meal into a fabulous feast.
Mutton doesn’t get any better than this!
Fine dishes such as Chicken 65, Kolhapuri Mutton, Paneer Makhani and Palak Paneer.
Surely these are the best breads to eat – with paneer makani or palak paneer.
Specialties such as Fish Molee and rich curries which originate from Chettinad, Andhra Pradesh and Malabar coast to delight your taste buds.
My fondness for Fish Molee is never ending – love it so much. The danger is that I overeat rice and it happens.
Prawn Biryani, Mutton Biryani and many more; end your hearty meal with Masala Tea, and you’ll be satisfied.
Mutton so flavourful and tender it falls off the *** – insanely good!
Chicken Dum Briyani – a feast for kings!
Vegetarian Gujurati food that is not only MSG-free, but also uses vegetables from proprietor’s own farm and top quality ghee! From Dudhi Chana, to Chickpea Dhokla and Hara Bhara Kabab, the sumptuous vegetarian fare is to live for. Exceptional in Kuala Lumpur.
Hara Bhara Kabab is a delicious variation of vegetarian kabab made with spinach leaves (palak) potatoes (aloo), peas (matar), fresh chaat masala powder, amchur powder (dry mango powder).
Carrot Halwa is a classic Indian dessert that is served warm and cold with creamy yummy vanilla ice cream.
