They have a pretty good chance.

Germany is one of the best teams in the world right now and the reason I say that is not because the won the last World Cup or they have some brilliant players but because they always seem to be looking ahead and planning for the future. They already have one of the best line ups in the world and till now, most of the important players seem to be in pretty good shape and form.

One of my favourite quotes which is “Strikers win you games, defence wins you championship” is pretty applicable here.

In Neuer, they have the best goalkeeper in the world for the last 5 years. Add that to the brilliant defenders like Boateng, Hummels, Rudiger, Howedes and many more only make them stronger.

Add to that, the marquee game changers that are abundant in the squad (like Ozil, Krooz, Muller, Rues (if fit)).

We must also remember that with a second string side, Germany recently won the Confederation Cup in Russia (where the next world cup is and they must find it comparatively easy to adapt to the conditions next year).

They are also the Under 21 champions and the Confederation and the Euro 21 championship win is why I was saying they are always planning for the future which most international teams have found difficult to do once their “legendary generation” retired.

The only thing that may need to be looked at is the striker department but I guess the Confederation Cup and the Euro 21 have given some names for Low to consider.
