It’s hardly impossible now, they have just won 3 out of there 10 games and are currently sitting at 9th Position.

But they are still in the tournament.Delhi is the only team that is out of the Race of IPL. RCB is still in race but it is very hard for them as to reach qualifiers they have to win there all the remaining 4matches. They have to face SRH,KXIP,DD AND RR in upcoming matches . We all know in which form Srh and KXIP and are also playing in good momentum and DD will try it’s best to knock others team out of the team as they have nothing to lose and they will play fearlessly, all the pressure will be on BANGALORE.

But RCB still has not lost his hopes and they will try to put there best. They should win there left matches with big differences that will boost up there NET RUN RATE and if they won there all matches still at the end there luck may depend on other teams.

Let’s hope for the best. ABD and KOHLI should take the responsibility and play wisely.

  2. That’s a million dollar question 🙂

Now with the concluded auctions, we look like a balanced side. But…. U never know

Let’s reflect on how namma RCB looks on paper.

    Firstly…Injuries/Fatigue

If we lose out on key players due to fatigue or injuries that upsets the whole balance, Starc was our key bowler and over time only an RCB fan deeply understands the value of a fast left hand bowler on the chinnaswamy stadium pitch. The pitch is so favourable to batsmen that bowlers must bowl out of their skin and here it’s not about just taking wickets but also containing runs. Starc did a brilliant job with us.

    Secondly,.. RCB’s Extravagant buys

RCB have always splurged on players who have gone out to be duds for that season.

Tymal Mills – Most Expensive last season to Unsold this season. Well RCB thought a quick unconventional player could do the trick.. Well the gamble cost us Rs 12.5Cr

Saurabh Tiwary – Touted to be the next Dhoni, hmm..?.. Well at least I thought so or I made myself believe that when we bought him.

Kevin Pieterson – The fad of All rounders was at its all time high and so was Mr Mallya always in high spirits.

Yuvraj Singh – He did pretty well, which is why he was there for another season

Point is.. The players we got for nothing are our retained players.. Kohli, Sarfaraz and ABD

Even Yuvzendra chahal too.. We’ve been lucky with the draft system and not to mention the local Karnataka players are an absolute delight. (Read.- Manish Pandey, Karun Nair)

Well now coming to our squad

Virat kohli – He had a personal disappointing season last time averaging 30, which is average considering the expectations we have and we have been merciless against Gayle who averaged 20..Well point is both didn’t do well.. So its important that his form is top notch..

Most of our bowlers are from the KKR stable. The team that decimated us last season at 49 runs.

Hmm they know the conditions well. If you can’t play them, you buy them!!

Chahals got game time with India and that is a huge plus!!!

Quinton De kock – RCB fans will never forget the 51 ball 108 runs for DD.. We’ll if you can’t play them, buy them!!

Brendon Mccullum – Well the first Ipl match, Devastating.. Need I say more??

ABD – Mr dependable, even in his bad form this man cannot be dropped, he’s an asset on the field.

Among the uncapped players – Quite a few have done well in the recently concluded Syed Mustaq Ali T20 trophy and with Nehra on board, i believe that he made all calls with regards to the uncapped Indian bowlers.

Well no matter what, this team always has some voodoo problem

All said and done, no matter what our team looks like and I firmly believe that we WILL WIN!!

E varsha cup Namde!!.. Have been saying this year after year for 10 years!!

    Very very very Biased view!!!

  3. Yes, they will definitely win this year’s IPL. They have done some sensible buys this time than spending money on one single player. Here are the reasons :-

Batsmen :- Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Brendon McCullum. They are the most destructive trio for RCB and change the game by smashing boundaries out of the park on their day. The duo of Virat-AB can decimate the bowling attack on their day. Virat has been in a terrific form now and he would wish to see RCB win this IPL.

Wicket Keepers :- Quinton De Kock, Parthiv Patel. Through De Kock is not in form now, he is a destructive player who can provide stability to the team and is a hard-hitter. Parthiv Patel is also a good player but his strike rate decreases after powerplay.

All-rounders :- Chris Woakes, Corey Anderson, Colin De Grandhomme, Moeen Ali, Pawan Negi, Washington Sundar. Woakes is in a very good form now but he is mainly a bowler. Grandhomme has an impressive strike of 160+ in T20Is and Anderson can be handy with both bat and ball. Negi and Sundar are quality spinners and have to fight to make it to the playing XI. Sundar’s performance in this IPL can be the X-factor for RCB.

Pace Bowlers :- Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Mohammed Siraj. Umesh and Siraj are expensive in the death overs but can take wickets in regular intervals. Coulter-Nile is a dangerous bowler but is injury-prone and Southee hasn’t been in good form in IPL but will look to change his fortunes this time.

Spinners :- Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal has been terrific against South Africa and the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy. He is Kohli’s go to man who can break the partnerships at regular intervals and change the tide to his favour.

Uncapped Talents :- Sarfaraz Khan, Manan Vohra, Mandeep Singh, Pavan Deshpande, Aniruddha Joshi, Navdeep Saini, Aniket Choudhary, Kulwant Khejroliya, Murugan Ashwin. Sarfaraz can finish of the innings. Saini and Kulwant have been terrific in the Syed-Mushtaq Ali T20 tournment and will look to extend their dominance in this IPL as well.

Support Staff :- Daneil Vettori is the head coach for RCB. Gary Kirsten is the coach who led India to world cup triumph in 2011 and he may help RCB win their first title. Ashish Nehra can help the players and can transform talented bowlers into feared bowlers.

Pitch :- Last year, the pitch at Chinnaswamy was changed from batting wicket to bowling wicket due to which the home team suffered. The KSCA must have changed the pitch seeing their dismal run last year.

Comeback :- RCB had their worst nightmare in 2017 and would look to change their fortunes this season and remove the “chokers” tag.

Luck :- The winners of the previous edition started and ended their league campaign away. This time, only RCB will meet this factor and so RCB is most likely to win this season. If RCB comes to the finals they should bat first as they lost the previous 3 finals chasing. I hope RCB can avenge their last year defeats and become a team to beat this IPL.

Best of luck RCB and hope to see you play bold cricket, give entertainment and finally win this IPL. Ee saala cup namde. Playbold RCB.

    Thank you. Suggestions are welcome.

Edit 1:- Thank you Monish Singhal and Tanmay Saxena for the update. Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled out of this IPL and Corey Anderson has come as a replacement.

Edit 2:- 100+ upvotes for 1st time, guys. Thank you and keep upvoting, readers.

Edit 3:,- RCB got eliminated in today’s match against RR. Totally dissapointed with their performance. Get a better squad next time, RCB. Better luck next RCB.
