You will be shocked to know that Sam Curran is not an Englishman.

YES!!!!

He is the son of former Zimbabwe player Kevin Curran’s son and of course younger brother of Tom Curran.

Basically, he is a Zimbabwean and completed his schooling in his hometown and college in England.

He has started his cricket career at an early age. He has played in Under-15, Under-17 and Second XI level ( here only top county teams play in the tournament ).

He has come into the limelight when Alec Stewart ( former England captain and director of Surrey )has said that he has not seen better 17-year old cricketer than him in his whole life career. The young lad in his country debut for Surrey had taken 5 wickets in the first innings. He has become the youngest player to achieve the feat.

Same Curran has made his own mark in international cricket in the 2018 test series against India where he had taken four wickets in the first innings of the first test match including three top order batsmen. His figures were 4–74. When England was struggling and stand in the situation to lose the match then he had scored crucial 63 runs with tailenders against the probably the best bowling line-up of INDIA in the modern era cricket. This inning has shown his mental toughness and strong character as a player.

Again in the 3rd test against India, he was the top scorer in England’s first innings with a score of 78. In the end, he was the man of the series for his 272 runs and 11 wickets .

He was named Cricket Writers’ Club Young Cricketer of the Year 2018 .

Recently , he had played for Auckland Aces and he has scored his first T20 half-century from just 27 balls against Wellington Firebirds in the Newzealand T20League.
