Singapore, Thailand & Malaysia seems like the ideal combo. You would be able to cover the best of South Asia and these are the most popular destinations for Indian tourists.
Make an itinerary which consist of ;
3 Days in Malaysia
3 Days in Singapore
4 Days in Bangkok would be the ideal itinerary.
Reduce Singapore to 2 incase you are cautious on the budget. 3 days would be good enough to cover Bangkok. Add Pattaya or Phuket/Krabi based on your preference. Pattaya is around 150 kms by road and takes about 3 hours.

Air Asia provides good connection from most of the Indian cities to these destinations.Start with Bangkok then Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia , and Singapore
I recommend you download trip advisor app. Its a very handy tool to plan for your trip, review the hotel stays, and also the places to visit. There are lots of budget airways starting from INR 15,000 return fare from most of the Indian cities. Try and book your tickets 45-60 days in advance to get the best fare. If you choose a budget airline, plan for in-flight meals and make sure your smartphone is loaded with enough movies and songs because the airline is going to provide neither the food nor the entertainment. Plan on arriving in the morning so that you get the whole day.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia offers best of both world, a fast growing capital and cultural heritage. Half a day trip to Batu Caves also can be included in the the itinerary.If kids are accompanying Lego Land is an excellent place to spend a day. Check out Penang if you have more on your agenda than the typical touristy checkbox locations. Public transport system is very efficient and also pretty cheap.

Singapore is hardly one hour flight from KL.
This is going to be an expensive destination compared to the other two. Lots of attractions including Sentosa Island, Universal Studio, Night Safari. Hotels are also pretty high end.
