How is Russia preparing for the coronavirus?

We are closing the borders, checking new arrivals, stockpiling buckwheat (seriously, I bought the last pack at the store today), banning mass gatherings of people, closing schools and universities, using mass surveillance tools to look for people who were in contact with known carriers of the disease. Ill patients are isolated in hospitals, potential patients are isolated at home. Older people are asked to stay at home. Etc, etc, etc. We are producing our own test systems, and we are working on the vaccine.

There are measures to support the economy and people who have to stay home or at the hospitals. Tests and hospital care are free, of course.

As of right now, most patients with Coronavirus in Russia are in Moscow. It makes sense for multiple reasons (transport hub, testing availability, population size). The situation seems manageable, but it can blow up any minute now. We are a huge country with a lot of irresponsible people. And you don’t need much to start an unstoppable chain reaction in a crowded city like Moscow.
