How long will this Coronavirus CoVID-19 last?

Here are some straight up facts. The best case scenario that the administration has highlighted is between 100K to 240K deaths in the US. I understand this is a broad range and it is difficult to estimate anything narrower than that with the data we currently have.

As of yesterday, there have been just over 5,100 deaths in the US. This means that going by the projections, we’re at best 5% of the way through this nightmare and possibly only 2.125% of the way through it.

While I appreciate all the optimism floating around, I do also want us to be realistic here and understand that this is not going to be an overnight fix. We must brace ourselves psychologically for this storm and know that no matter how hard, this too shall pass. So keep the challenges and fun games and high spirits coming; let’s do everything we can so spread some smiles through this ordeal.

Isolation is not easy; even more so for those of us who live alone and away from their near and dear ones. I want us all to support and be there for each other as best we can through these difficult times. Remember that we’re all in this together, and, the only way we win this war, is together.
