WebMd tells that nearly everybody has experienced a coronavirus episode in their lifetime, most of those were no worse than a common cold. The new one is sometimes fatal if symptoms are untreated, but there are no cures for it and the body has to make its own cure (and it usually does !) This is not to say that it is not dangerous, because it can be dangerous. It seems to be less dangerous than flu virus and that virus has been historically shown to be as much as 10% fatal on occasion and in some populations.
