How will the 21-day lockdown impact you?

I work for the pharma industry, and I’m not sure how long I’ll be in lockdown. I could be summoned to work anytime.

I worry about my family, I’m afraid my call of duty might force me to be out there putting at risk my life, and of those close to me. My closest friend is a doctor and works closely with the Covid patients. She can’t come home, she has already been exposed. The least she expects from the rest of us is to be home and safe. And she’s right. That’s what we can do, as responsible individuals, for ourselves, and for the ones we love.

I have a natural inclination towards books since the time I was a kid. I would write poems, read avidly and always thought to start out writing, but never really tried my hand at it. Call it laziness? Isn’t that what most of us do with our talent? Take it for granted?

This pandemic has shown us how fragile our lives are. That we must not put off until tomorrow, if we have even the slightest chance today. I have decided to give a shot at writing. And I’m going to begin by writing one answer a day.

My writing skills are not polished yet. I don’t know what appeals to an audience, and how to get them gripped. I don’t know what it takes to touch people, what strikes a chord. I don’t know yet what my genre of writing would be. But I’m going to try. And right now, I aim to be better today, than I was yesterday.

Today is my second day of lockdown, and I know now what I’m going to do to keep my sanity. I’m going to take it one day at a time.
