If you give birth on a plane, how would your child get home without a passport?

You would go to your embassy or consulate at the next country the aeroplane landed in. The officials there would know the correct procedure. Citizens give birth away from home all the time.

That’s if your baby is alive – most aeroplane companies won’t let you fly in the last several weeks of gestation, so your baby would be seriously premature. Very premature babies usually need emergency medical care to survive.
