It was first detected in December 2019, that’s why it’s known as Coronavirus COVID-19. It is not being quickly contained. China, who initiated stringent protections has managed to finally hold the line on widespread infections and they’ve flattened the upward curve, holding spread of the virus. Other countries not so much. It has been growing rapidly, now nearing the quarter-million mark of infected that we know of.

It isn’t being contained, and that’s why around the world public gatherings are being banned, events cancelled, and advising the public to distance ourselves socially, to self-isolate and self-quarantine. We have to limit the spread or it will not be contained. One person infects two others, two people infect four, four people infect eight, eight people infect 16, and it spreads and spreads and spreads.

You need to take precautions to be safe and limit the spread of the virus. For some the symptoms are mild to moderate, and in most cases tolerable. If you do develop serious symptoms, call your medical professional, and self-quarantine to avoid passing the virus on to anyone else. The incubation period is 2 to 14 days.
