I would suggest you build analytical skills through newspapers and 1-2 magazines only. The requirement of a magazine is that a newspaper provides fragmented information and opinions daily, but an aspirant requires in-depth issue based understanding for UPSC.

There are a few magazines that you can follow.

1. Drishti – Excellent analysis of topics.

2. IAS SCORE – I found their analysis useful.

3. IASBABA.COM – Holistic coverage of issues in short points.

4. VISIONIAS Monthly Magazine – More about facts and less on analysis.

One can follow any two magazines and follow the issues religiously. To cover both the magazines, follow subject wise analysis and coverage.

For instance, take Economy first and cover all the Economy related topics. First, read and understand only (2-3 hours daily for 2-3 days), then make notes as precise as possible mentioning only the keywords so that revision of the topics before Mains could be done.
