Virtually zero. Someone might make it onto US soil while infected without being searched or detained, but once someone fell ill and sought care (or died somewhere with signs of Ebola), it would be identified as Ebola. A swift tracing of contacts and monitoring of the situation would limit further spread. The issue in rural Africa is a lack of resources and a lack of education. People don’t know basic public health and disease process biology, and they’re relying on whatever they are told by other villagers or people claiming they know what is causing the illness. Some are trained in health. Some are warlords or rebels who want to foment fear and mistrust of foreign doctors.
