  1. I took home a captured SKS rifle from Vietnam. When I got to Los Angeles international Airport with it slung over my shoulder, the concerned woman at the ticket counter suggested I have it boxed and moved with the luggage. (Imagine walking into an airport today with a rifle slung over your shoulder…. One good thing was that I don’t remember anyone spitting on me or calling me a baby killer though)

    I tried to mail home a couple of disarmed chi com hand grenades. I did note that on the shipping box. However, those never made it back. My NVA pith Helmet did go thru though.

    can’t speak to current policy though.
