  1. Football (soccer) generally has a loyal and growing fan base in the U.S., and the Premier League specifically has a good audience as evidenced from the phenomenal TV coverage the league has gotten over the past several years.

    I live in the tri-state area (which is either New York-New Jersey-Connecticut, or New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania, depending) and there is a very strong following here. I, and a number of other people I know, support Everton, I know several Liverpool supporters (sadly), Chelsea supporters, Man City supporters, surprisingly few Man U supporters, a number of Spurs supporters and several others that really surprised me.

    Granted that’s just one of the major metro areas of the country, but considering NBC’s tv deal and their viewer numbers, I think that America thoroughly enjoys its British football.
