Do you remember what computers do that humans don’t? They don’t get tired or make mistakes.

However, computers can’t tell right from wrong or correct from incorrect. They are just machines that are under total control of their masters.

A blockchain is just a way to let computers know what is right and wrong.

This is done by having many computers working independently and cross-checking information with one another.

If one computer has the wrong data (because its master has bad intentions), the other computers are there to point out that wrong data.

Of course, this mechanism to tell right from wrong predicates on the requirement that all those computers are controlled by totally unrelated people who are not in control of one another.

If they are not independent, then that blockchain’s integrity is questionable.

I hope this explanation is simple enough.
