About 80 % of TB affects the lungs, it being an air-borne disease spread by careless acts of sneezing, coughing and spitting in public. The germs can spread via the bloodstream to lodge in any part of the body and manifest itself in those sites. TB affects even the bones, commonly those of the spine. It can affect the long bones, the bones of the hip etc. Such TB is called as bone tuberculosis. Having worked as a TB medical officer for DOTS clinics for 7 years, I have been greatly impressed at the MIRACULOUS EFFECT DOTS treatment has upon TB patients, especially of bone tuberculosis cases. I have seen patients using TB medicines for TB of the hip for more than 2 years without any improvement of the condition. But when they were put on DOTS, they started showing signs of treatment by the end of two months of treatment. From what I have observed, I would not be wrong in saying: DOTS is also one of the treatments for bone tuberculosis, but THE TREATMENT for bone tuberculosis.

Regards and take care.
