    Arfa Karim Software Technology Park was named after a young girl who’s a computer prodigy who, in 2004 at the age of nine, became the World’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional. This park comprises of different offices which also includes an office of Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, a university named “Information Technology University” and much more.

    Lahore has a vibrant IT industry but the majority of its software houses were scattered all over the city’s various commercial areas. Keeping in mind the global practice in the IT industry, Arfa Software and Technology Park project was initiated in 2012. Back then, the project’s name was Lahore Technology Park but it was later renamed to honor the memory of late Arfa Karim, a Pakistani computer prodigy who became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at age nine in 2014.     Arfa Software Technology Park is a building that provides very good quality office space with all requisite facilities in the heart of Lahore. It is also the tallest building in Lahore.

    Among the entities that keep their office in the building are the Punjab IT Board, The Information Technology University (both headed by Dr. Umar Saif), Microsoft, Teradata, General Electric, Ublox, RentVM, Ebryx and Inbox.

    The “Technology Park” opened in January 15, 2012, but was later renamed in honor of Arfa Karim( who was the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional) after she passed away at the age of 16. Now the main idea of the Arfa Software Technology Park(ASTP) is to attract local and foreign  investors to start IT related business in Pakistan.
