It’s as simple as what the name implies, Information technology involves all technology (e.g. computers, smartphones, networks, apps, etc.) used to store, read, manage and transmit information. In businesses you may hear about data mining, quality assurance, databases, meeting recordings, sharing files, creating profiles, etc. All of these terms are generally a form of storing and/or managing information that an organization uses to operate and/or make informed decisions. It has become one of the most important tools used by large conglomerates such as Alphabet, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, among others. But Information in itself is used in just about any organization and in today’s society we rely heavily in information technology to gather intelligence and make well calculated decisions.
