It wasn’t my child…I was a child involved. Sort of. I didn’t actually participate in the dirtiest thing done, but I didn’t tell, either, having recently been yelled at by my mom for tattling.
My siblings and I, along with my Godfather’s daughter and son were sent out to play at the Godfather’s house. I was maybe 6, the daughter a year older and the rest of them were younger. All four of them started making mud pies. LOTS of mud pies. I don’t like to play in dirt, so I just sat off to the side.
They decided to start throwing the mud pies. I still don’t get it. Then they started launching them at the house. The house could have been made from mud looking at the front of it! The porch, the stairs, the windows. It was nasty.
And I got in trouble for not telling and had to apologize with everybody else. After I blurted out through tears that I was sorry, but had been spanked by Mom for tattling about whatever it was, I think the adults were more understanding about my silence.
Picks up food from the floor and eating them. Coin or marbles.
As a parent you don’t want your kid doing anything very dirty or unhealthy, or life threatening like putting coin or marble in their mouths.
We keep a very watchful eyes on our 2 year olds, and before they do anything dirty, unhealthy, before they put any object in their mouths, we scream and ran to them before they do.
