Sir Tim Berners-Lee

Sir Tim Berners-Lee is my pick. Well he invented the World Wide Web in 1989. While he was working at CERN as a Software Engineer, he noticed that the scientists were facing problems in exchanging data. He understood the unrealized potential of millions of computers connected with each other. He documented the proposal for what was going to be the World Wide Web.
