Why do people say it is not the pasta which makes you fat but the sauce which goes with it?

Eating pizza, is not what makes a person fat.

It is how much pizza you eat that makes all the difference.

The normal pizza eaten in Italy is what is called the Margherita , which is just a very small amount of tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, oregano, and a couple of leaves of basil thrown on top of the pizza after it is pulled from the oven.

Moat Italians eat pizza only once a week.

Italians are the the thinnest population in Europe.

It is probably because of their healthy eating habits as hardly anyone is fat here.
