Why is Russia safe from the Covid-19 corona virus?

Russia is very much affected by the Coronavirus. It is on the news constantly in Russia. The issues are that the government controls all television channels in Russia and thereby controls the dissemination of information about all topics including the Coronavirus.

So right now Russians are being told by their government, on television shows and news, that they should wash their hands and a few other minor health recommendations. The government is promoting the propaganda that this is a problem in all other countries except Russia and that the Putin government is there to protect the population. It is really amazing to watch this on television every day. It is a very short sighted strategy because many Russian people will realize they are being lied to at some point. And you know what happens when a critical mass of Russian people realize they have been lied to.

At the same time the Russian government is using troll farms to spread false and misleading information about the Coronavirus in western Europe and north America to instill fear and chaos in those countries. For me, this is the most unacceptable and dangerous.

If Russian people prefer the Putin government to any other possibilities that is their business. And if millions of Russian people become ill with COVID-19 then this is a consequence of their choice in government. Most other countries will just deny visas to Russian citizens to protect themselves. But when the Russian government spreads lies and propaganda about a pandemic just to cause chaos in other countries this must be stopped.

Maybe the spread of the Coronavirus in Russia will help bring needed change and relief. The virus does not discriminate between oligarch and poor person.
