School isn’t important for many reasons. You may always hear people saying you should go to college, but for what reason. If you’re looking to become a doctor, a teacher, or go to law school. Then you should most definitely go to college and have a good education. Many people have different passions in life it’s just up to you to find out what you want to do. If you want to go to college to become a teacher think again. The average high school teacher gets paid less than 100k a year. Would you want to go to college for 4 years to get paid as little as that. College is roughly that amount depending on where you go.
What I want people to understand is college, and high school isn’t really worth it. They teach you subjects you won’t ever need to know in years of your life. For example in math they’ll teach you stuff you’ll NEVER see again outside of school. In history we learn about stuff that happened hundreds of years ago. Will we ever become time travelers? I don’t think so not in hundreds of years at least. So why is this information so important? It’s not, school doesn’t set you up to become successful in life. What you want to do is completely up to you. If you want to own a business go ahead and think of a few ideas. Social media is easy to access and is possibly the best way to advertise a business or brands. There’s a whole world that’s ready to be explored. If you want to travel and get to know people that’s something you can work towards. Of course it will cost money, but think to yourself. Every year the US prints trillions of dollars. There’s so many ways people can make money. Just do some research, and I’m positive you’ll eventually find something.
In school we should be taught about everyday activities. Not once in the 12 years I’ve been in school have I heard teachers mention what’s actually going on in the world. We shouldn’t be taught subjects that aren’t relevant outside of school. I’m sure many of us aren’t working to become a scientist or the next Albert Einstein, but if you are go ahead and be the best you can be. Instead i’m sure people want to learn how to become financially stable, and become the next Bill Gates. Did you know Bill Gates dropped out of college and at an early age. Bill Gates knew he wanted to be successful in life so he followed his passions. This just proves you don’t need a good education to become what you want to be. You just have to put your dreams into reality. Sure it’ll take time to work towards your goals, but that shouldn’t hurt you to at least try.
School should let their students vote on what’s being taught. We shouldn’t have to learn stuff that won’t set us up to be the best we can be. The least the school systems could do is listen to their students. Instead of teaching math problems we won’t ever see again. Teach the students how to become successful and create a business. A lot of people who’ve dropped out of school were stressed about math. I believe if they were learning how to make money at a young age school could be more interesting. No one wants to work a minimum wage job making 10–25$ an hour. I’m sure they want to become self-employed.
