Originally Answered: Can RCB win the 2020 IPL?
Depends on the team’s performance.
If people look at who contributed to RCB’s success or to the number of matches won on every season, it is either among the three individuals
If you look at facts only these three men contributed more than 50 percent of RCB’s runs scored in the tournament.
It becomes easy for the opposition to target and set different plans only to Virat and Abd.
Virat and Devilliers Take huge responsibility on themselves which in turn puts pressure on them while they come out to bat, Devilliers in particular come to crease after a fall of wicket, that too if it was Virat’s then the pressure is even more on him.
Masterminds behind every other team sits and plans ,have different plans only to these two batmen, it rather becomes a bit easy to execute because of the responsibility and pressure carried by these batmen.
Though these Batsmen backed themselves, showed up on many occasions, had record breaking partnerships . That’s why they’re the best Batsmen in world.
The only problem is that due to big match pressure which adds on them they couldn’t deliver on a big Match like a Final or Semi Final.
RCB’s is biggest weakness over the years is their bowling which everyone knows. Death Bowling is not up to mark.
Everytime Virat Or Abd scores and post a good total say over 200, the bowlers give away runs at death despite taking a few wickets earlier. Like I said before not every team’s batting is dependent on only 2 individuals like RCB’s.
This has been the story of team RCB over the years.
They need a good bowlers who could bowl well at death overs.RCB need a go to bowler which every successful team has.
They need a solid batsmen those who can anchor and take the innings forward even after fall of Virat’s and Abd’s wickets.
Okay let us look at the retained players and playing 11
we have LEFT handed PARTHIV PATEL as WK-OPENER
LEFT handed DEVDUTT PADIKKAL as OPENER
we can’t open the innings with two left handers
So we have to buy a RIGHT handed Indian OPENER / WK OPNER like Robin Uthappa ..
So my playing 11 would be
PARTHIV PATEL / DEVDUTT PADIKKAL
INDIAN RIGHT HANDED OPENR / WK – OPENER
MOEEN ALI / SHIVAM DUBE
SHIVAM DUBE/ MOEEN ALI
WASHINGTON SUNDAR / OVERSEAS ALL-ROUNDER
OVERSEAS PACE BOWLER / UMESH YADAV
OVERSEAS PACE BOWLER
Now if you see at the line up from top to bottom
We have PARTHIV at no.1 VIRAT at no.3 MOEENALI at no 4/5 , AB DIVILLERS at no 6 .who can control the game and hold the game at different stages ..and AB DIVILLERS will finish the innings along with some one at no.7.
At no.3 Virat can control the things form one end as he is doing for indian team
At no.4 and no 5 .. they will bat from 7 – 15 overs ..The teams will use the spinners .. and medium pace attack .. at 7 – 15 overs .. Shivam Dubey and moeen Ali both are hard hitters of spin bowling and they can hit the spin bowling easily .. and both are left handers.. and most of the teams don’t have off spin bowling options.. so that will be and advantage too.. SHIVAM DUBE and MOEEN ALI both are good at building partnership..we know how MOEEN ALI PLAYS .. Coming to SHIVAM if we observe his domestic batting circuit.. he is also good at building partnership and hitting some of the balls out of the ground . So it will be good to have them at no.4/ no.5
At no.6, My reason behind bringing AB DIVILLERS at no.6 is .. AB DEVILLERS has been dismissed by spin in the last two seasons .and he is strugglig against spinner from the last 2 seasons . we can see , against Rajasthan Royals .. he was dismissed 4 times by SHREYAS GOPAL in the last two seasons . And we all know he can hit the pace bowling out of the park for sixes…most of the times 16 to 20 overs are bowled by pace bowlers . So that we can use AB DEVILLERS for finishing the innings..
As of now we have 3 Indian slots and 2 over seas slots
coming to spin department.. we have YUZVENDRA CHAHAL( LEG SPINNER )AT no.11 . And we already have MOEEN ALI ( OFF SPINNER ) as Another spinner..
IF IT IS A SLOW PITCH ( SPINNER FRIENDLY )
we can how with 3 spinners, WASHINGTON SUNDAR at NO.7 and NO.8 will be an OVERSEAS PACE BOWER. N0.9 is also an OVERSEAS PACE BOWLER …………..NO.10 will be UMESH YADAV/ NAVADEEP SAINI
NO 11 is YUZVENDRA CHAHAL.
IF IT IS A FAST BOWLING PITCH
we can have
NO.7 IS OVERSEAS PACE BOWLING ALL-ROUNDER
NO.8 IS OVERSEAS PACE BOWER
NO.9 IS UMESH YADAV
NO.10 IS NAVADEEP SAINI
NO.11 YUZI CHAHAL
in this bowling lineup In fast pitches .. if the overseas pace bowler and all-rounder keep the runrate in control then umes Yadav and saini will pick the wickets.. and the death over will be bowled by overseas pace bowler and Navadeep saini ..
for the overseas all-rounder slot .. Chris Morris will be very good option .. because .. he will keep the tight lines as you see in the world cup matches .. IND VS SA. And he has very good IPL expect and he can accelerate at the death overs .. ..
If we look at the batting .. 7 member can bat and even Umesh Yadav can bat at no.8 .. and look a the bowling options .. we have 7 bowling options.. that can be far balanced team.. and we should rope in some quality player match winners like dale steyn , Mitchell and star , pat Cummins , .. i.e overseas slots should be filled decently..
